Several more days went by before I had any chance to spend time with mom. I was in school and she had taken a job with the department store downtown on the day after our last episode. By the time she came home from work, I had already had supper and was usually studying or even asleep. Finally, it was Saturday again and we were both home. I was in the living room reading the paper and then a magazine and she would come in periodically as she went about cleaning and dusting.
